How to choose your first teacher

The right teacher is less about credentials and more about fit. A world-class Ashtanga teacher is the wrong choice if what you need this year is rest.

Start with what you actually want.

Be honest about your goal: strength, flexibility, calm, recovery, community. Filter by style with that goal in mind rather than by whichever class is trending.

The teacher you keep coming back to is almost never the flashiest one.

Book an intro session before committing. Notice how you feel afterwards — not how impressive the class looked. That feeling is the only review that matters.
